26-11-2014· I'm making plans for a homebuilt band saw mill. I called a band saw blade place to get some info on blade speeds and prices and the guy there mentioned that my 15" wheel size is way too small. A 1" blade needs a 36" wheel (I was told) or the blade will develope cracks and prematurely break.
